What’s the difference between supported employment of Person with Autism (PWA) and Person with Disability (PWD)?

  • Any form of support for Person with Disability (PWD) in general is of course a commendable social responsibility. It should be noted however that training and employment by means of supported employment for person with physical disabilities is different to supported employment of persons with autism .The difference is that for the latter, different levels of ongoing supervision or assistance by a job coach is necessary.

  • PWA depends on the coach to a large extent. SEAC offers in-house work structures that enables and simulates employment and associated activities, as an achievable goal specifically for PWA.

Who are the founding members?

  • Parents of Person of PWA (with more than 25 years’ service work with PWA) and professionals in the related field.

  • The founder members are aware that other centers are available, but they are, in terms of fees, beyond the financial means of B40 families.

  • The SEA Club's experience, training and facilities at its premise covers PWA only. We are not sufficiently trained and lack the knowldge/experience to handle other types of PWD.
